Onboarding

Everything you need to know to begin trading on Crystal.

Wallet Setup

To interact with Crystal, you will need either a mobile or browser extension wallet. If you do not already have one, Rabby, MetaMask, Rainbow, or Phantom is recommended, although any EVM-compatible wallet works. Install and set up your wallet of choice if you have not done so already, and be sure to save your seed phrase offline in a secure location.

Once you have a wallet, you need to fund it with assets on the Monad network. If you have assets on other EVM networks, bridge them to Monad using ______. If not, you can purchase Monad tokens on _____ and withdraw them to your on-chain wallet. Ensure you have some native Monad at all times to cover gas fees.

Quick Start

1. Connect your wallet

  1. Navigate to https://app.crystal.exchange. Make sure you are on the correct URL, we recommend bookmarking the website to avoid phishing links.

  2. Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top-right corner.

  3. Select your preferred wallet from the popup.

  4. Approve the connection in your wallet.

2. Place a trade

Crystal is primarily a spot exchange, allowing users to buy and sell any listed asset. Unlike derivatives exchanges, spot trading involves the actual transfer of ownership of the underlying asset, and does not involve liquidations or leverage (yet).

  1. Direct yourself to the Trade page and ensure your wallet is connected. If you do not have a wallet, please refer to Onboarding. Select the swap tab to swap any two tokens, limit to buy or sell tokens at a specified price, and send to transfer tokens to any other address on the network.

  2. Select your input and output tokens.

  3. Enter your desired input or output amount.

  4. When placing a limit order, enter a limit price, and enable add liquidity only if you want to ensure your order executes as a maker order. When placing a swap, set a slippage limit or use the default (0.5%) and enable partial fill if you would like your order to fill until the slippage limit, otherwise your order will revert if the slippage limit is hit. For more information, see Order Types.

  5. Click the swap button and confirm the transaction in your wallet. If you placed a limit order, you can view the fill status in the order center located at the bottom of the screen.

3. View your orders/balances

Your token balances can be viewed on the portfolio page, which includes a graph of your portfolio's value alongside several other statistics. You can view and manage your orders, trade history, and order history in the order center located near the bottom of the screen.
